I felt compelled to paint this as I was firstly attracted by the colours on the right bank which provided a romantic contrast to the stark industrial buildings opposite.

Since completing the painting I learned that the entire place will be raised to the ground to make way for an urban village. This painting is dedicated to all those who worked at the plant.
